One of the expectations that both Corvette owners and those who just watch Corvettes being driven have for this vehicle is a high level of performance. The standards of speed, handling and a beautiful sounding engine are just some of the things people think about when they hear the word Corvette. The main question every Corvette owner has to ask themselves is if they doing everything possible to maintain their car’s highest level of achievable performance?

One of the important performance aspects of the Corvette in regards to its transmission is the type of shifter used. It’s important to be able to make sharp clean shifts as easily as possible. It’s important to get one that is heat treated steel to prevent problems that could occur from aggressive shifting. The air intake system is another serious consideration. This is what will determine the level of air flow efficiency the Corvette has as air is introduced into the engine. It might be good to look at one that performs well at higher speeds. Another way to increase a Corvette’s performance is to install an engine oil cooler package. Keeping oil temps at optimum levels will prolong the life of the engine.

A supercharger system may also be a worthwhile investment for any Corvette owner. It’s important to look at one that adds to the engines good looks and offers a good bracket and pulley system which provides superior alignment and belt wrap. Another consideration to improve your Corvette’s performance may be to install a catch can that will work with the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system. The system eliminates the oil vapor and has been designed to prevent any chance of contaminating the Corvette’s intake system.

It’s important for people who have made the investment of purchasing a Corvette to protect their investment by maintaining or increasing their car’s performance.
