Upgrading the Look of Your Engine

Posted by Neal on 1/17/2014 to About Corvettes
There is no reason that improvements or modifications must stop at your Corvette's hood. Whether you upgrade the performance of your car's engine and related components or not, you can easily upgrade their look. Enhance the appearance of your car's engine bay through one or more of the following suggestions.

One of the simplest enhancements to your engine's look is achieved with paint. Thoroughly clean the entire engine bay, and then apply a spray paint variety that is specially designed to withstand extreme temperatures. This paint both improves the look of your vehicle and provides rust protection.

Replace your vehicle's caps for another easy upgrade. Choose a chrome-plated, polished or painted finish for your fluid reservoir caps, such as those for your oil, power steering and radiator. Coordinate the look of the caps with new valve covers. For a comprehensive engine dress-up, replace and paint all hardware visible in the engine bay, including your hose clamps, separators and air filter housing.

For a practical and aesthetic engine upgrade, select parts and accessories manufactured from billet aluminum, which provides a mirrored finish popular with many car enthusiasts. Additionally, billet-forged parts provide a strength and tensile advantage over other aluminum products and last longer.

When you dress up your Corvette's engine with paint or sets of coordinating caps and accessories, you make your machine look as good inside as it does outside. Select parts that are specifically compatible with your vehicle's engine. Never sacrifice safety for aesthetic purposes, and always try to keep the engine bay as clean as possible for both the performance of your vehicle and for the visual impact.
